For the next several weeks the 7th Grade Honors Classes and 8th Grade Classes will be doing seperate lessons. We had a QUIZ last friday and the students will get them back by Tuesday. They should be signed and brought back to class so I can check them for homework credit.
Math 7 Honors:
We have begun reviewing 7th Grade Math for the NYS Math test. It will also reinforce skills that we have learned in the 8th grade curriculum.
Monday: We entered the world of Real Numbers and identifying what kind of number something is. We also had to place rational and irratiional numbers on a number line. Play the Real Number game in the Math Links!!
Tuesday: A quick review of exponents and square roots. We will also be doing Scientific Notation which many kids struggle with.
Wednesday - Friday we will work on Statistics and Probability
The scholars will have homework each day...Remember, there is extra help every day during lunch period
MATH 8:
We will continue our work with using algebra to find missing angles. Students need to know congruent, vertical, corresponding, complimentary, supplementary, alternate interior angles, alternate exterior angles and distributive property. We will be reviewing solving equations with variables on both side of the equation.
These will reinforce our algebra and geometry skills. Homework will be to finish each day essential question, there will be homework on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There will also be a short quiz on Friday.
